Improving health and well-being for all
AFL-CIO LABOR SERVICES
For over 40 years, the AFL-CIO and United Way of Central Massachusetts have worked together to strengthen the community, helping union members and their families live, work, and thrive. Through volunteer services and access to vital health and human services, members can actively shape their communities.

Day of Action & Special Projects
Union members participate in community service efforts like the Holiday Toy Drive and Handicapped Ramp Program.
Letter Carriers' Food Drive
Held annually on the second Saturday in May, the National Association of Letter Carriers' "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive is the largest single-day food collection event in the U.S. Letter carriers, with support from local United Ways, AFL-CIO, and community partners, collect millions of pounds of food to help families facing hunger.
Handicapped Ramp Program
Local union volunteers identify those in need of accessibility improvements and construct ramps that enhance mobility and independence. Carpenters Local 107 plays a key role in the engineering and construction process.
