After School Out of School Time (ASOST)
The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has awarded the United Ways of Central, North Central, and South Central Massachusetts funding to subgrant After School and Out of School Time (ASOST) Programs since the spring of 2022.
This funding supports ASOST programs by strengthening the quality of and increasing access to learning and enrichment programming that improve academic, college and career readiness, and social-emotional outcomes for youth.

ASOST Funding Opportunity
Applications for After School & Out-of-School Time (ASOST) funding for the 2026–2027 school year are now closed.
Funding is available for youth-serving organizations that provide high-quality after-school or out-of-school time programming 3–5 days per week for a minimum of 150 hours during the school year.

2026 SUMMER ASOST-S grants
United Way of Central Massachusetts, in partnership with United Ways of North and South Central, received $465,000 to support pre-k to 12th grade youth programs this summer.
